Social & Cultural Programs

Current Events Calendar

The Japan-America Society hosts programs that highlight unique aspects of Japanese life and culture
– both traditional and contemporary. Other programs introduce Texas culture to Japanese residents. Annual events include an autumn Moon viewing, or Otsukimi, at the Dallas Arboretum; our popular Mochitsuki New Year's Celebration held each January; and the Annual Meeting held in late spring to elect officers and enjoy an evening together. The monthly Pekopeko-kai supper series provides opportunities for informal social and cultural exchange. Occasional events include Japanese art and music programs, dinners at Japanese restaurants, group outings to baseball games, and more.

All of these activities bring Japanese and Americans together – to share traditions, exchange ideas, and make new friends.
