The
Japan-America Society hosts
programs that highlight unique
aspects of Japanese life and
culture
– both
traditional and contemporary.
Other programs introduce Texas
culture to Japanese residents.
Annual events include an autumn
Moonviewing, or
Otsukimi, at the Dallas
Arboretum; our popular
Mochitsuki New Year's
Celebration held each January;
and the
Annual Meeting held in late
spring to elect officers and
enjoy an evening together.
Occasional events include
Japanese art and music programs,
dinners at Japanese restaurants,
group outings to baseball games,
and more.
In
addition, MIYABI, our
Young Professionals Group,
organizes informal activities for
special interest groups within
the Society.
All of these activities bring
Japanese and Americans together
– to share traditions, exchange
ideas, and make new friends.
