U.S.-Japan Economic and Security Relations:

One Year after Prime Minister Abe's Historic Visit

Prime Minister Abe’s historic state visit to the U.S. in April 2015 – and his

unprecedented address to the U.S. Congress – significantly re-energized

interest in U.S.-Japan relations among policymakers and the public in

both countries. Japan Update offers a timely review of developments in

bilateral economic and security relations in the past year. Experts from

Japan and the U.S. will comment on progress made toward shared

objectives, such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and new security cooperation efforts, and their impact in North Texas.
